Happy Birthday and Orwa the Elephant

I turned 17 yesterday. I had a great day and recieved many nice presents (mostly elephant themed) and had a lovely meal out with my family. I don't feel any different being 17, though hopefully I will get used to being older. Should also be recieving my provisional licence soon, I have been wanting to drive since I was 14 :) A friend of mine actually adopted an elephant for me for my birthday, which was a lovely surprise. The video above is the rescue of the elephant I adopted, called Orwa. I found a load of info about him on various different sites.

Rammstein!

Dad recently went to a Rammstein concert with his brother and a couple of friends in Newcastle. He had no previous knowledge of the band and didn't even want to go. I had heard of them and had often listened to their songs but struggled to get dad to listne to them. So it came as a surprise when he returned from Newcastle completely converted. He now listens to them every day and is thinking of learning German. What an incentive! So at the moment our house is Rammstein obsessed, this is a good thing!
This is a photo dads brother Jim took of Till Lindemann swinging an arrow of some sorts across the stage. It was one of the only photos that came out reasonably o.k. Dad also mentioned that they were in complete shock all the way through the concert, because of their amazingness and couldn't help but bang their heads to the beat.
Also this man here is gorgeous, he is the lead guitarist of Rammstein. His name is Richard Z. Kruspe <3 German perfection itself.
And then just one of the whole band :)

Women's Day

Throught I would post this as a celebration to Women's Day and also as a reminder of an essay that I wrote as part of my final grade in history on the Women's Suffrage Movement in Britain! Glad that it is finally over with and I can just enjoy women's rights!
Also saw this quote on the internet today in relation with Women's Day and thought I would post it since it is from the truly fabulous Ville Valo:

'Women are always beautiful.'
Isn't he just the sweetest? :)
