Dreadlock Birthday!
It was my one year dreadlock birthday on the 26th of May, I didn't manage to bake a cake like I promised myself. My dreads and I have had our ups and downs, like most relationships. And after pondering whether to just get rid of them I have come to the stage where I am comfortable with the way they look. They no longer want to join together at the roots and though I have still got a lot of loose hair, im happy with the way it looks. I did spend my dreadiversary with good friends (we had a picnic) as one of them was moving away so she could go to university. The rest of us still have a year of school (optional) before we leave for university.

Happy Birthday and Orwa the Elephant
I turned 17 yesterday. I had a great day and recieved many nice presents (mostly elephant themed) and had a lovely meal out with my family. I don't feel any different being 17, though hopefully I will get used to being older. Should also be recieving my provisional licence soon, I have been wanting to drive since I was 14 :) A friend of mine actually adopted an elephant for me for my birthday, which was a lovely surprise. The video above is the rescue of the elephant I adopted, called Orwa. I found a load of info about him on various different sites.

Rammstein!
Dad recently went to a Rammstein concert with his brother and a couple of friends in Newcastle. He had no previous knowledge of the band and didn't even want to go. I had heard of them and had often listened to their songs but struggled to get dad to listne to them. So it came as a surprise when he returned from Newcastle completely converted. He now listens to them every day and is thinking of learning German. What an incentive! So at the moment our house is Rammstein obsessed, this is a good thing!
This is a photo dads brother Jim took of Till Lindemann swinging an arrow of some sorts across the stage. It was one of the only photos that came out reasonably o.k. Dad also mentioned that they were in complete shock all the way through the concert, because of their amazingness and couldn't help but bang their heads to the beat.
Also this man here is gorgeous, he is the lead guitarist of Rammstein. His name is Richard Z. Kruspe <3 German perfection itself.
And then just one of the whole band :)

Women's Day
Throught I would post this as a celebration to Women's Day and also as a reminder of an essay that I wrote as part of my final grade in history on the Women's Suffrage Movement in Britain! Glad that it is finally over with and I can just enjoy women's rights!
Also saw this quote on the internet today in relation with Women's Day and thought I would post it since it is from the truly fabulous Ville Valo:
'Women are always beautiful.'
Isn't he just the sweetest? :)

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
"You know what a turtle is?"
It has to be said, im not an avid fan of sci-fi but there are some books and films in that genre that do occasionally interest me. I recently watched bladerunner for the second time, which I thoroughly enjoyed, and then I was surprised to find the book 'do androids dream of electric sheep' in the small school library today. I have just literally read the first couple of pages, I can already tell that I am going to enjoy it. I might even become a sci-fi fan! So, do androids dream of electric sheep?

Busy Busy Busy...
So recently I have been getting quite a big workload from school *sad face* whichs means that I have basically no free time for my self. I have exams coming up in May and other external exams happening over the next few weeks so its a bit like living in a mad house at the moment. Plus I am consuming lots of coffee and have been going to sleep well over midnight the past couple of days (curse you essays!). So this blog seems to be a bit of light relief to clear my mind a bit, and I hope to post a bit more once all this is over. Anyway back to the business! Peace and love to you all!

My Sister
This is my beautiful sister, Erin. We are twins born by cesarean section, I am the oldest by one minute. She is the closest person to me in my life and we do nearly everything together despite being like chalk and cheese :) She has the longest hair I have seen on anybody ( its longer than in these pictures) and she loves all things arty. I love you baby sis!

My Baby
This is Jared, my baby. He is the reason for the name Princeofprawnasia, he is also my raison d'etre. To me he is known as Prawn, Jaré, Ray, Jaranus among other names that pop into my head.
An Introduction
I do believe an introduction is much needed! My name is Sian Thompson, I am sixteen years old. I play the cello and have been doing for two years or so. I have dreadlocks grown through the natural method, they are nearly nine months old. I live in a zoo, almost. My dad and I own about 70 tarantulas between us, we have two bearded dragons called Jabba and Gardulla Hutt, we also have two chameleons called Camo and Flage we also have four Degu's called Thelma and Louise and Laurel and Hardy. And finally we have five cats (previously six but one was run over, he was called Bowie) the others are called Noodle, Mclovin, Nucky, Amy Lee and my baby Jared. I enjoy art and photography but could not draw a picture to save a life. This is my life and I consider myself a lucky person but like everybody else I have problems. Possibly the most random pieces of information you could know about me but hopefully it helps to create a better picture of me.
A New Beginning
As my introduction suggests this is going to be a blog about my self discovery. Cheesy you may think? Well I am sorry! If this doesn't interest you so far then find some other beings blog to spy on! I personally think it would be quite interesting to plot my life on this blog so that in furture years I can look back and say- Did I really say that? Yes, this is for me, after all it is my personal self discovery. Plus if anybody is actually interested then you can happily tag along on my journey! So let the games begin- Ready, Steady, Go!
